An articel in Die Zeit magazine - "Here your data is secure" "Hier sind Ihre Daten sicher "

The weekly German newspaper Die Zeit visited Iceland recently  to study the feasibility of storing and processing data in the country.  The result were published on 21st of August on the front page of the business section

The article which is in German language says that Iceland is a good location for data.  The location is a safe harbor for data according to the magazine.  Icelanders do have a certain tradition for personal freedom, they do have better law environment to support data privacy and the government owned International submarine cables gives a certain comfort that privacy will be kept.  According to the law Professor and IT-law expert Thomas Hoeren from the University of Muenster, Iceland is on the way to become the Switzerland of data,  says in the article.  The article can be found here to read in original format
